The Rule of Thirds is a technique for making photos more interesting and dynamic. The definition of the Rule of Thirds is as followed: photos are divided into thirds with two imaginary lines vertically and two lines horizontally making three columns, three rows, and nine sections in the images. The theory states that our eyes naturally gravitate to the intersection points.
In this picture we can see that the palm
tree is the subject and is located on the right third of the picture. Not only
is the palm tree following the Rule of Thirds, but the top of the building is
on the upper third, allowing the sky to be present in the picture.
